Musical Theme: Liberation

For me, the queer journey has always been about more than simply finding acceptance—it’s about celebrating our extraordinary history and echoing our fierce, unapologetic spirit. In my recent post, “But I Don't Wanna Walk 500 Miles,” I explored the exhaustion of endless struggles and the importance of choosing our own pace along the path of self-affirmation. That reflection inspired me to revisit these twin playlists that capture this dual essence: one that marks our proud heritage and a legacy of rebellion that demanded visibility at every turn, and another that celebrates the everyday courage of standing up for who we are, regardless of the obstacles.

Loud is a tribute to defiance and the soul-stirring anthems that resonate in secret clubs and pride marches alike. It’s a bold, energetic collection that reminds us our past is worth shouting from the rooftops—and I’m releasing it on the 56th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, which ignited the LGBTQIA+ movement.

Proud is the steady pulse of our resilience—a musical journey for anyone determined to conquer adversity simply by living authentically. It reminds us that every personal battle we face contributes, honoring the courageous act of reclaiming our identities and challenging prejudice, one brave step at a time.
