As a DJ, I always requests: which track transports you back to a cherished moment?
A special shout out to for introducing me to corook! Share a song that reawakens your fondest memories below and maybe you'll inspire my next playlist!
Musical Theme: Travel Postcard
When I’m traveling (or even just out and about in everyday life), I love to capture songs I recognize when I hear them playing…and use the Shazam shortcut on my iPhone when I don’t. This always helps me find new music and gives me tracks that bring me right back to a specific moment or a special place. I’ve written a couple of pieces on my trip to London with my mom (with a third coming this week), so naturally, I wanted to bottle up the feeling with a playlist!
Behind the Music
When I arrange songs into a playlist, I’m exploring a specific theme—in this case, echoing the balance between the chaos of change and the calm of personal growth—but I also use a narrative structure where tracks 1, 13, and 25 serve the respective overture, entr’acte, and curtain call to steal a bit of musical theatre lingo.
