As a DJ, I always take requests: what’s a song that helps you feel grounded when you embrace change?
Share the track that roots you below and maybe you'll inspire my next playlist!
Musical Theme: Feeling at Home
I have been enjoying this playlist rather endlessly since we packed up from our temporary rental in Rotterdam and have been living between there and our new place in The Hague. We’re finally sleeping in our own bed in a full-size apartment…and it feels great!
Behind the Music
When I arrange songs into a playlist, I’m exploring a specific theme—in this case, trying to find grounding when you’re facing a new situation—but I also use a narrative structure. Mirroring the highs and lows of transformation, I use tracks 1, 13, and 25 as the respective overture, entr’acte, and curtain call to steal a bit of musical theatre lingo.
