It is, and always will be, my strong stance that you will not be buried with, or laid or scattered in or around, any plates or housewares. Thank you for sharing this trip with us, here and from a distance at the time.
I ran into a quote from Lawrence Durrell in college, and it's guided me since: "To live life to its fullest while avoiding hurting yourself or anyone else, this is the only true morality." An impossible goal, of course, but still worth striving for!
Absolutely an excellent guiding principle. It’s no easy feat, but at least holding yourself accountable when you know you’ve hurt others can help. And that goes double for yourself!
"Everyone has their own idea of what happens after you die, but why put off until the theoretical next life what you can do with your real one today?" I couldn't agree more! There is no time to waste and being with the people we love and doing things that bring us joy are what matters most. Not letting "bad news" color everything in dark tones is my goal at this stage in my life. And, by the way, I love your mom so much:)
Those words mean a great deal coming from you especially. There's no avoiding sorrows that come our way, but even among them, there are moments of joy. Choosing to see them shining through the darkness is what gives us the power to find contentment and some semblance of peace.

We got rid of so much stuff to move abroad and it was so freeing. No need to stockpile for a trip we won’t even remember taking!!
